Webbing into Literacy offers a wealth of resources for developing early literacy skills. Webbing into Literacy (WIL) is a downloadable program designed to provide Head Start teachers with materials and instruction that will foster language development, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print. Since the site is designed for pre-school students, the goal is exposure and awareness rather than mastery. However, by adjusting instruction, the activities and materials can be used with kindergarten students and first graders as well as older struggling readers. This site contains many reinforcement activities for patterns. Activities include shared reading and singing of nursery rhymes, sorting word patterns, and using rhymes to complete riddles. All needed materials can be downloaded. Downloadable materials include: rhyme cards containing nursery rhymes, picture card sets containing illustrated rhyming words, riddle rhymes, covers for students' alphabet booklets, and nursery rhymes booklets
